Common Questions
Straight answers to what homeowners and facility managers ask us most. Don't see yours? Call or send the form and we'll walk you through it.
Ask Us AnythingHow long does a garage floor take?
Most two- and three-car garages are ground, repaired, coated, and flaked in a single day. You can walk on the floor the next morning, move light items back in after 24 hours, and park on it after 48 hours. Larger shops and commercial floors are scheduled in phases so you can keep working.
What's the difference between epoxy and polyaspartic?
Epoxy is a thick, strong base coat that bonds to the concrete and builds the floor. Polyaspartic is a faster-curing, UV-stable topcoat that won't yellow in sunlight and resists hot-tire pickup and chemicals. We use epoxy where it belongs, on the base, and polyaspartic on top, which is why our floors go in fast and hold up outdoors.
How do you prep the concrete?
Every floor is diamond-ground with dust-collecting grinders to open the pores of the concrete so the coating bonds mechanically. We then fill cracks and spalls, grind them flush, check for moisture, and vacuum everything before the first coat goes down. Acid etching and paint rollers from a big-box kit skip this step, which is why those floors peel.
Will it peel or hot-tire lift like the kit I tried?
No. Peeling comes from poor prep and thin, water-based coatings. We grind the slab, use 100% solids epoxy for the base, and finish with a polyaspartic topcoat that stays put under hot tires, dropped tools, and oil. Our residential floors carry a 15-year warranty against peeling and delamination.
Can you coat old, cracked, or stained concrete?
Almost always. Cracks and chips are repaired and ground flush before coating, and a full-flake floor hides stains and surface imperfections completely. During the free estimate we test for moisture and check for structural problems; if a slab needs a moisture-mitigation primer or isn't a good candidate, we'll tell you up front.
Is it slippery when wet?
A full-flake floor has natural texture from the chips, and we can add an anti-slip additive to the topcoat for patios, pool decks, entryways, and shop bays where water or oil is expected. Glossy marble floors can be finished satin or with a light grit for the same reason.
How do I clean and maintain it?
Sweep or dust-mop as needed and hose it off or mop with warm water and a little neutral cleaner. There's no waxing or sealing to keep up with. Avoid rubber-backed mats sitting in one spot for months and use a dolly instead of dragging heavy steel edges across the floor.
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on square footage, the condition of the concrete, and the system you choose, so we quote every floor after a free on-site measurement. A typical two-car garage flake floor is priced by the square foot, and bigger shops and commercial floors get volume pricing. There's never a charge for the estimate.
Do you work on commercial and industrial floors?
Yes. We install high-build epoxy, urethane mortar, and quartz systems for warehouses, shops, restaurant kitchens, gyms, clinics, and retail spaces, including line striping, safety zones, cove base, and drains. Night and weekend installs are available so you don't lose production time.
Are you licensed and insured?
We're a veteran owned and operated company, fully insured, and every crew member on your property works directly for us. Ask and we'll gladly send a certificate of insurance before the job starts.
